My First Medical Checkup
After my wasted trip yesterday to Raffles Hospital, I finally had a successful first health checkup today!
I had to control myself from eating/drinking cos I was really scared that I will screw things up and have to come again. THANK GOD for Azlin's advice. :)
The staff at Raffles Hospital were generally very efficient and nice (I like the X-RAY lady the BEST).
I was actually quite excited to give my urine sample bcos I have been preparing for it by drinking at regular intervals while waiting for my turn. It was quite a messy affair but luckily I had planned it properly so I could clean things up and didn't soil my pants. :D
I prayed really hard and THANK GOD that I didn't have my period! I had this uneasy feeling that it would come TODAY and that I had to waste this trip again. But there was this part of the form where I had to state the DATE of Last Menstrual Period, and I just told the nurse that it was SO LONG AGO that I don't remember alr. Like February? And she was so shocked: ARE YOU PREGNANT?! LOL.
The blood test part was the most exciting bcos I never had that part of my arm pricked before and so I was praying really hard that it would go smoothly and that the needle won't get stuck or break. It turned out that the nurse had trouble finding the vein/artery and couldn't draw any blood except air from my right arm even though she had tried inserting it in and out a few times. It hurt but I was quite amused at seeing her panicked.
Initially when she tried it on my left arm, there was only some black liquid coming out and it was not filling the syringe so I was worried because I didn't know my blood was so BLACK. ): It says a lot about my character eh?! :Pp but after a while, more blood was drawn and it was a nice creamy thick healthy red! That was real comforting.
My arms ached for while after the test but I felt like I was so brave! :D Maybe now I can go donate blood. :D
Thankfully I didn't have to go for mammogram, don't think my tits can take it. ):
Anyway the entire checkup ended in 3 hours which was faster than expected :D
I felt so weak after that cos it was 12-14 hours since I last had anything in my stomach.

YUMMMMM!
